Why do the the ringtones on my Samsung intensity 2 sound crappy?!?

chances are the problem is with the bit rate, also know as the sample rate. The higher the sample rate the better the quality, and the bigger the file. Anything less than 128kbs is going to sound bad. It may also have to do with the format of the ringtone. Some formats are handled better on some phones, and not on others.
