Should I stop correcting her?

You don't mention how close or where the relationship is. I hope you don't correct her in front of anyone. I'm American, and a 'solo un pequeno' when it comes to Spanish, but I noticed that one of my older fem Hispanic subordinates was much more sensitive about being corrected, or even assisted, (by me) than were some others. You might explain that you only do this to give her more knowledge and not to point out any mistakes. This is what a friend does.
